About the book
Written in the form of a diary, this book is a collection of the thoughts and reflections of Chiara Lubich during trips to North and South America, and Africa. These trips, made during the time of the Second Vatican Council, served the purpose of guiding and developing the life of the Focolare on these continents. The events that took place within the Focolare communities, news of the Second Vatican Council itself, a visit to the tomb of St. Frances Cabrini in New York, observing the various cultural realities she encountered, all contribute to drawing out the richness of her own experience. Chiara’s reflections form the basis of the Focolare’s modern, universal, collective spirituality which has inspired millions throughout the world to earnestly seek the fulfillment of Jesus’ prayer, “That all may be one.”
