Unity and Jesus Forsaken
About the book
The spirituality of unity is an important corrective, especially for those of us in a world where technology and wealth lead us to live isolated lives. We often speak of the Christian life as a fundamentally individual project. I consider my sins . . . I repent . . . I seek to understand better. Individualism is like the air we breathe. Chiara teaches us to say “we” and “our.” When we live the charism of unity, “we go to God together” because we know that “the way to God passes through our neighbor.”
(From the Foreword)
The spirituality of unity—understood through the logic of the cross—has a power to transform us in the wisdom of God that the world deems foolish. Such unity, while perhaps seeming impossible, is profoundly possible. As salvation history makes clear, nothing will be impossible for God.
