The Unity Rosary is inspired by the charism of the Focolare Movement, a Lay Ecclesial Movement that strives to live unity and work for the fulfillment of Jesus’ prayer that “all may be one”. The Focolare is about living and fostering unity, respects and values diversity, and focuses on dialogue as a way of building bridges and relationships. The Rosary is a powerful and peaceful prayer that draws us closer to God through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Chiara Lubich, foundress of the Focolare Movement, refers to the Rosary as “a summary of the entire Gospel. By praying it and thinking about each mystery, one can relive the whole life of Jesus, accompanied by Mary.” She also said, “When you love someone, you want to tell them a thousand times. It is not repetition; it is a need of the heart.” The following Rosary offers brief thoughts on each mystery, inspired by the spiritual itinerary of Chiara Lubich.
