The Divine Artist | Focolare Word of Life Reflection

We are often amazed when artists take what has been discarded—what seems useless or broken—and transform it into something beautiful. In the same way, Jesus looks at the world in all its darkness, failure, and loss and says, “See, I am making all things new.” This month’s Word of Life comes from the heart of the Christian mystery: the cross is never the end of the story. What appears finished, wasted, or beyond repair becomes—through Jesus— the very place where resurrection begins. From the discarded wood of the cross comes new life that changes everything. That promise reaches into our own lives. In moments of disappointment, betrayal, loss, or failure, Jesus continues his work of divine creativity—bringing beauty, hope, and new beginnings where we least expect them. As we live this Word of Life, we are invited to become co-workers with God, participating in this quiet but powerful act of renewal—allowing resurrection to take shape in us and through us, for the life of the world.
